i actually did music in college, and i used to be in a band pre-covid. i sort of fell out of the local indie scene after that but i still live and breathe that buzz. i try to attend at least one concert a year!
i don't actually know much about genetics altogether and i'm not the academic sort, so i think this is just a holdover/curse from being interested in warrior cats. show me a cat and i can describe it to you, "scientifically"!
as mentioned, i'm massively into warrior cats! i'm giving this its own section since i'm not really a book guy, and it's more the creativity of the fandom i've fallen in love with.
i guess specifically taxonomics? i play metazooa almost every day to keep my brain sharp.
i really love learning about languages and how they evolve, especially differences in dialect. i like lanugages in general though — right now i'm learning japanese, as well as relearning irish, which is why you'll see both scattered around this site.
there's something about hotels that's super fascinating to me. i love comparing their interior design sensibilties against each other whenever i'm travelling!
isn't is great how we, as humans, invented something that's primary purpose is to be held and loved? i like to collect all kinds of plushies but i'm especially partial to realistic animal plushies!
i like all eras of gaming, but i find the early days of 3d gaming, i.e., 1995-2005, to be particularly fascinating. the cutting room floor is one of my favourite rabbitholes.
